Regulation of For Sale signs

By socowatch

There is a “For Sale” sign stuck in the planter at 176 Soco Dr. What are the regulations for such signs? I have seen other “for sale” and for “lease signs” posted, but not as visible as this one. I would imagine that the Olson Co. looks down on this due to it potential impact to sales.

How do you residents feel, and if you know, what is and isn’t allowed when it comes to these signs?

Anyone know what the asking price is?

Page 74 of the CC & R’s cover for sale or lease signs. To paraphrase, Every unit can have one sign like those commonly utilized for for similar purposes by a real esate company licensed to conduct business in the State of California.

I imagine the Olson Company would rather have people buy new units, but it’s a free market.

I think Soco Walk is a great place to live. Unfortunately, the fact that most of the units were built and purchased during the real estate peak has had a detrimental effect on home values.

I see the sign and it bothers me a bit, but if it is within their right to put it up then I guess there is nothing much more to say. it is very visible. i see other homes posting it in their windows and what not, but not really out in the planters.

they restrict business signage in the planters like that (if I remember correctly), so I thought it would carry over to For Sale signs. i never got my CC&R so I am not sure, but that would be great if we businesses could do something like that

I wish they would take it down…I am the highest offer and would like it to stay that way :)

Looks like the unit has sold. I wish now they take down the sign. Instead it got bigger and more gaudy looking. I guess the realtor needs to market her success story.
