Happy Days

June 26, 2008

Sorry for the inactivity lately.  But in general that is a good thing.

The only thing to note is the fencing around the new lofts has been removed (except around the building that isn’t quite as finished).  Looks like development is moving right along.  Hopefully sales are as well.

Parking is still a mess.

No recent property vandalism!

This forum hasn’t received any word yet on the electrical closets issue, though resolution is in the works.

Have a great day!

Illegal Motorcycle Parking

June 17, 2008

Our continuous struggle with parking has just taken a strange turn.  Many people have noticed that presumably one of the residents of the Retail Strip has been driving and subsequently parking their motorcycle by their front door.

Come on now.  At least park behind your garage like other people (illegally) have.  Or park along Walnut, a whooping 40 ft. from your doorstep.

Construction traffic is clear

June 17, 2008

No more congestion.  Go as you will.

Heavy Construction Traffic

June 17, 2008

There is quite a bit of congestion on the roads along Pomona Ave and inside the complex around the sales center.  The new building are getting the fire escapes installed so their are cranes and oversized haulers everywhere.  Use caution and try to avoid using Pomona during business hours today.

Run-in with Homeless Camper

June 11, 2008

A resident sends:

“A couple of days ago one of the residents of Building 1 (loft build along Harbor) had the unfortunate experience of having a late night run-in with a homeless person encamp in the electrical closet.  The power had gone down in the building and the resident went to open the closets to inspect what was happening.  Upon opening one of the closets, they had noticed a person sleeping (whom they initially thought was dead) on the closet floor.  The police had been called out to remove the individual.

To compound matters, it turns out that the electrical wires had been ransacked and tampered with, consequently resulting in the power outage.

This presents two compelling reasons to why greater security is required regarding these closets.  Currently, the HOA is addressing the issue, but any resolution may be some time away.  Until then, please use caution around these closets, particularly at night.  Many residents do arrive home in the later hours, so be cautious.  If you happen upon any activity around the closets during evening hours, please do not hesitate to call the police.”

Thanks resident.  I have also received complaints about an increase in beer bottles, trash, and trespassers on the property.  Summer is upon us and you can expect a sharp increase in nuisances.  Please don’t hesitate to request patrols, as it is time for the police to begin increasing their visibility in this neighborhood again, and stem the inevitable activity this time of year brings.
