In regards to a previous post about an LA Times article (http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-downtown19-2008aug19,0,1885626.story?page=1), a resident responded with the following:
Do you live in SocoWalk or is this blog just an effort to decrease property values in SocoWalk?
====
I assume these negative responses are a result of the misrepresentation of the purpose of this blog perpetuated by the LA Times article. I am greatly disappointed that the blog has taken on this negative light.
I assure, this blog was not created to decrease property values of the Soco Walk community.
Common now, listen to yourself. Do you think this blog is the source of the problem? Is THIS blog the cause of lowering property values?
This blog was created because we live in a neighborhood that, much like all other neighborhoods, has its issues. This blog aims to help combat problems created by members of the community (and these individuals are part of this local community) by keeping other members informed and alert. By commenting on this blog, I am proud that you care as much to continually keep yourself informed. But don’t place your frustrations with the surrounding situation here with unfounded (and ridiculous) blame.
Look outside your window. Do you see the graffiti? Do you see the homeless drunks? Do you see the traffic?
My friend, I hate to break it to you, but it’s those issues driving down the values. This blog does nothing to create those things. All this blog does is inform you of its existence, so that you can do something about it.

First I would like to state that I am not a resident of SOCO Walk, but if I could afford to live there, I would be one. I have lived in Fullerton for many years and have watched this project from the ground up, and have visited the community more times than I can count. When I saw the article in the LA times, I was a bit surprised at some of the comments made about the project. Make no mistake, SOCO walk is a HUGE improvement over what was there before. I was also surprised that it seems the article uses ONE unhappy resident’s point of view for the basis of the story.
So the article referenced this blog, I did a google search, and here I am. In reference to the resident’s question “Do you live in SocoWalk or is this blog just an effort to decrease property values in SocoWalk?”, I completely agree with the response by the blog moderator. I think this blog is a positive and would much rather live in a community where residents have a forum (like this blog) to discuss problems and come up with solutions, rather than a community that just sits around, complains and never takes action.
Great job with the blog, keep doing what you’re doing! I just hope one day I will be your neighbor.

I have to agree with Jacbo you are doing a fine job with this blog! I’ve booked marked it for future reading.
It puzzles me when people ignore problems or ask others to be silent. If there is noticeable crime or problems they need attention to be fixed. It’s like having a leaking faucet and ignoring it hoping it will fix it’s self. Trust me it won’t happen!

I am a soon to be resident of SoCo walk and did find this blog from reading the LA Times article and I’m glad I did! I have bookmarked this site myself.
It’s good to know there is a place for the community to be updated and leave comments in a forum like this. I definitely find this blog to be useful and positive and I don’t think it does decrease in the value of the community. I would rather know what’s going on than just complain and do nothing. Keep up the good work!

I would like to be in touch with the President of the HOA. Please advise how to contact the President of the HOA. Thank you.

Does it matter whether or not I live in SocoWalk? The issues at hand are still relevant.
Also, many of the post have been provided directly from or suggested by residents of SocoWalk.
Further, if you read previous posts, you should be able to figure the answer to your question.
