Thanks for setting up this forum. In case you are unaware of the effort a Neighborhood Watch program is being set up for Soco Walk. I am one of the “block captains”. My “block” consists of 112-136 Soco Drive. What do we do? At the moment we are signing up our neighbors and gathering phone numbers and email addresses so we can alert one another to problems in our loft building and the community and call in quickly to the FPD. If 80% of Soco Walk residents sign up we will be recognized by the City and added to its Neigborhood Watch program. What happens then? Soco Walk will be able to post Neihborhood Watch signs and distribute window stickers to those who have signed in and want to display them. Will it help? It can’t hurt to let the neighborhood know that there is an active and organized Watch program in operation? Watching out for one another may bring our community closer and make us stronger. The HOA is also actively pursuing a suggesting by the FPD to formerly authorize them to arrest trespassers and to post “No Trespassing” signs around the property. Once operative the Soco Walk HOA then can call the FPD and alert them about non residents who may be “hanging out”. The FPD will respond and if they are non residents they are subject to arrest for trespassing. If you want more information, have questions, or want to help contact me by posting on this blog.
